%CO:A,5,74%%C%***** WORDS *****

%JR%This is a game for two players. It resembles Scrabble but there is only
one (ever-changing) word in the middle.

%JL%Each player receives seven tiles and there are eight in the middle. A
%JR%player can add some or all of his tiles to the beginning or end of the
%JL%middle word. This is indicated by typing B or E. This is followed by
%JR%the numbers of the letters in the `hand' , counting from the left. E.g.,
%JL%you have the tiles DHSEBAJ and you wish to add ADES to the H at the end
%JR%of the middle word then type E6143 and ENTER. When asked for the number
of letters you would type 5 and ENTER.

%JL%The score for this player would be increased by 19 - 9 for the value of
the letters in the word plus twice the number of letters in the word.

%JL%If a player cannot make a word he (or she) can enter 0 and play will
%JL%pass to his opponent. Should he not be able to make a word a 9 can be
entered and the game will end.

%JR%Alternatively, or at any time he wishes, a player can enter 8 to change
%JL%all of his tiles, provided there are sufficient tiles remaining in the
%JR%pool. Ten points will be taken from his score immediately. Changing all
tiles in this game is a greater advantage than in normal Scrabble.

%JL%If a mistake is made and the added letters do not make an acceptable word
%JR%in the middle then 9 should be entered instead of the number of letters.
Ten points will be deducted for the same reason as given above.

%JL%The frequency of occurrence of letters, and the value of each letter is
the same as in Scrabble. Here, ~ represents a blank tile.

%JR%Play continues until one player has no tiles left or 0 and 9 have been
entered on successive turns.

The number of tiles remaining is shown at the top of the screen.

DON'T FORGET - YOU MUST ENTER `B' or `E' at the start of every entry.

Hope you like it.
