Betrayal at Krondor Cheat v1.00
Copyright 1993 Colin Adams and Brett Kapilik

--------------
This program is a short saved game editor for Dynamix's Betrayal at
Krondor. It will let you alter the amount of money that your party is
carrying. By changing the amount of money, you can basically do anything
in the game, such as paying for training or books to boost your skills,
buying all the armor, weapons, healing and teleportation you need.

Anyhow, to use the program you should copy the file KRONCHT1.EXE into
your saved games directory. If you used the default paths, when you
started playing, your saved games should be in the directory:

C:\DYNAMIX\KRONDOR\GAMES\SAVES.G01

To be sure, there are a number of saved game files called something like
SAVE00.GAM, SAVE01.GAM etc. in this directory. They should be 334605 bytes
in length. If not, then this cheat may not work. (ie. Make a backup of
your saved game before using this cheat!)

To use the cheat, simply choose a saved game you want to edit and type:

KRONCHT1 SAVE00.GAM or whatever your *.GAM file is called.

You will see a description of the game you are editing (i.e. The name you
used when you saved it inside of the actual Krondor game.) You will
also see the amount of money that you currently have.

Enter the number of Royals that you want to give your party and press
enter. Keep in mind that there are 10 Royals to a Sovereign. You
can enter a number between 1 and 99,999,999. If you enter a larger number
it will be reduced to the largest number allowed. If you enter 0, then
no changes will be made to your game file.

Well, that's it really. I have included the C source code, so that other
people can perhaps enhance this program and share the new version with
us. Direct editing of the character's skills and attributes is most
likely possible, I just didn't have time to play around with this much.
I just ask that if you do make changes, to please let me know so
that I can try it out as well! (Also, keep us in the credits somewhere!)
