  VIS Discis Drivers for Multimedia Computers


These drivers enable the user to use the VIS Discis Software on the
TANDY Sensation! and other TANDY Multimedia Computers.

System Req.

Tandy Sensation or Tandy MPC with Sound Blaster board.
Windows video driver in 256 colors mode.


This disk contains the following files--

   VINSTALL.EXE    VDISCIS.EXE
   SVGA256.BGI     README.TXT

   INSTALL <DIR>
   SOUND.TST
   DISCIS.ICO
   MAKEGRPS.EXE
   DISCIS.PIF



In order to obtain a printout of this README.TXT file, insert this
disk in Drive A, make sure the printer is switched on, is on line,
and at the C:\> prompt, enter the following command--

   PRINT A:README.TXT

   and press <Enter>.



Installation on the Sensation!

 1.  Start up your computer.

 2.  Exit WinMate by pressing the <Alt> and <F4> keys simultaneously
      and then pressing <Enter>.

 3.  Type

          CD \WINDOWS

      and press <Enter>. 
    
 4.  Type 

          EDIT SYSTEM.INI

      and press <Enter>.

 5.  Move the cursor down to the shell=desktop.exe line. 

 6.  Edit the shell=desktop.exe line to now read
 
         shell=progman.exe

 7.  Now move the cursor down to the [386Enh] Section

 8.  Add this line in, Type

          DMABufferSize=080

 9.  Press <Alt>, <F>, and <S> to save the above change to the 
      SYSTEM.INI file.

 10. Press <Alt>, <F>, and <X> to exit the editor.

 11. Type

           CD \

       and press <Enter>.

 12. Insert this disk in Drive A.
                                 
 13. Type
  
         A:
 
       and press <Enter>.

 14. Type

         VINSTALL

     and press <Enter>.

 15. Select the NEXT button on the screen. 
  
 16. Repeat the selection of the NEXT button on each of the next 
       two screens.

 17. The last screen sets the default DISCIS directory and the
       install software checks to see if a sub-directory called DISCIS
       has been created under C:\. If it does not find one, you will be
       prompted to create this directory. Do so by selecting the CREATE
       button in the lower left-hand corner.

 18. Select the NEXT button.

 19. Select the INSTALL button in the lower left-hand corner.
       This will install the Windows Discis Group and Icon the next
       time you run Windows.

 18. Select the NEXT button.

 17. This screen is the audio test screen. Select the TEST button
       in the lower left-hand corner. Sound should come through the
       Sensation!'s speakers.

 18. Select the NEXT button on the screen.

 19. Select EXIT.

 20. Take this disk out of the drive, type

           C:

       and press <Enter>.

 21. Type 
  
          CD \WINDOWS

       and press <Enter>.

 22. Type

          WIN

       and press <Enter>.
 
 23. After the Program Manager loads, Discis will create a group for
       Discis and an icon for "Discis Books for VIS."


NOTE: To make sure that you do not run into any problems using the
       VIS-Discis software, run this software under Windows and not
       under WinMate.




INSTALLATION ON OTHER MULTI-MEDIA (NON-Sensation!) 
COMPUTERS WITH SOUNDBLASTER BOARDS

 1.  Start up your computer.  
   
 2.  Press <Alt> and <F4> simultaneously to exit Windows.

 3.  Type

          CD \WINDOWS

      and press <Enter>. 
    
 4.  Type 

          EDIT SYSTEM.INI

     and press <Enter>.

 5.  Now move the cursor down to the [386Enh] Section

 6.  Add this line in, Type

          DMABufferSize=080

 7.  Press <Alt>, <F>, and <S> to save the above change to the 
      SYSTEM.INI file.

 8.  Press <Alt>, <F>, and <X> to exit the editor.
