XLStatistics - Statistics for Microsoft Excel. Version 4.5
Student Version

XLStatistics is a collection of Microsoft Excel 5+ workbooks for
statistical analysis of data.

The student version of XLStatistics is freeware and may be freely
distributed provided the file XLSS45.zip is distributed unaltered.

Requirements
XLStatistics runs on any machine that has MS Excel version 5 or better.
About 7 meg of hard disk spaces is required.

Installation
XLStatistics (Student version) is in compressed form in the file XLSS45.zip
(zip format). Copy the file to a folder on your hard disk and uncompress it.
About 12 workbooks will be produced along with documentation for the full
version of XLStatistics. These workbooks are standard but have a few macros
for updating things that Excel itself doesn't (like automatically adding new
data values to charts, for example). XLStatistics is not an addin and will
not alter your system - including Excel itself - in any way, apart from
taking up a bit of space on your hard disk.

Running it
XLStats.xls is the launch-pad (this is one of the workbooks produced when
XLS45.zip is uncompressed). It provides easy access to the other workbooks
and is the only workbook you need open directly. Note: When it is opened in
Excel 97+ you may be warned that the workbook contains macros - you need to
click "Enable Macros".

Uninstalling
The XLStatistics workbooks can simply be deleted at any time without causing
any problems or side effects.

Documentation and Demonstration Movie
The documentation is XLStats.doc (Word 6). It contains a fully worked
example explaining how to use XLStatistics - a demonstration movie version
of this demonstration can be downloaded from

Features
XLStatistics is a collection of Microsoft Excel (version 5 and above)
workbooks for statistical analysis of data. The package is designed to
effectively implement the "data analysis algorithm" that is pictured in many
statistics texts. Users of XLStatistics do not need to know any formulas to
carry out statistical analysis of data - all they need do is identify the
variables in their data, select the appropriate XLStatistics workbook and
enter their data. All summaries, graphs and analysis appropriate to the data
are automatically carried out. Also included are popular not-used-enough
alternatives and extras like non-parametric tests and tests to determine
sample sizes, etc.

XLStatistics is more than just a tool for students and teachers of
statistics - it should appeal to anyone who needs to do moderately advanced
statistical analysis of data and has access to Excel. It should appeal
especially to workers in business and scientists.

This student version has most of the basic workbooks for 1 and 2 variables.
