1.      Quick Start Setup

        If you're a first time user, simply run INFOMAIL CONFIG,
        followed by INFOMAIL LIST.  Put INFOMAIL SCAN into your regular
        mail maintenance batch file, or run it after polling your boss
        if you're a point.

        Note: When running INFOMAIL CONFIG, ensure a full pathname to
        your desired log file is present. If this short intro isn't
        enough for you, take a look at the file USER.DOC which contains
        more detailed instructions in the form of a tutorial.

2.      Upgrading from InfoMail 1.00, 1.10 or 1.11.

        Simply copy your INFOMAIL.DAT and INFOMAIL.CFG files from your
        InfoMail 1.00/1.10/1.11 directory and run INFOMAIL UPGRADE.  Use
        INFOMAIL CONFIG and INFOMAIL LIST to check the details, as
        described in the Quick Start Setup section (1).  Also, run
        INFOMAIL SCAN as described in the same section.

3.      Upgrading from InfoMail 1.20.

        No upgrade process is required to upgrade from InfoMail/386 1.20
        to InfoMail/86 1.21.  Just unarchive the new files into place
        over the top of the old ones.  Note that the main manual is
        unchanged, it is the manual for InfoMail/386 1.20.

4.      Essential Directory Contents

        The following files should be present in your InfoMail directory
        when you first unarchive the software:

        Refer to the user guide or the directory contents section of the
        reference guide for more details of the use of these files.

5.      Software Status

        This software is completely free.  Use it as and when you like,
        for as long as you like, without paying the author anything at
        all.  The author would appreciate a netmail from you though,
        saying what you think of the software, including suggestios for
        improvement, or saying what you are using InfoMail for.

        The author accepts no liability for damages or inconvenience
        resulting from use of InfoMail.  See the user guide for more
        details.

6.      Support

        The INFOMAIL echo has been set up by the author.  It is
        available in the UK, various parts of Europe and North America,
        and India.  Attempts at full worldwide distribution are
        constantly being made. If you cannot find a local feed for the
        echo, enquire at the author's system.  The author will be
        willing to act as a feed for anyone who really wants the echo.

        Every month a short news bulletin is posted into the INFOMAIL
        echo.  Users who do not have a feed for the echo can request the
        document from InfoMail itself; send a netmail to INFOMAIL at
        2:2502/666 with the subject line INFOMAIL.POST.
