Release Notes
-------------
This system comprises a 16-bit Prolog compiler for MS-DOS 3.0 or later,
together with assorted debugging tools, example programs, and a potted
demonstration suite. The files exist in 4 subdirectories, encoded in a
ZIP file. This file is encrypted, but you can obtain the password easily
as described in a later section.

PLEASE NOTE
-----------
Although LPA PROLOG Professional 3.83 runs on any DOS-based IBM-PC
compatible machine, from the 8088 processor upwards, the DECRYPT utility
included in this distribution requires an 80386 or higher processor. If
you are using Windows 95, please also note that DECRYPT only runs in
real-mode DOS, and not in a Win95 DOS box. This is because some of its
32-bit instructions get corrupted by Win95's DOS emulation.

Please do not attempt to build this system on a machine with a 16-bit
processor, or in a Win95 DOS box: once built, however, the software can
safely be transferred to and run on older machines or to HP Palmtops.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
This distribution .ZIP file contains 4 files:

	DECRYPT.COM	- a simple DOS command-line decryption program
DECRYPT.DAT	- the encrypted ZIP file containing Prolog
MAKE_383.BAT	- a batch file to create your Prolog system
	README.TXT	- this documentation file

To install LPA PROLOG Professional 3.83 on your system, first send an
email to:

	zelda@lpa.co.uk

requesting the password for "LPA PROLOG Professional 3.83". You will
receive a reply, usually on the same day, with the password. Once you
have your password, decide on a new directory into which you want to
place Prolog (say, "C:\PROF_383"), and then using your password (say,
"fred", although this is *not* the correct one!), run the batch file
with the command:

	C> MAKE_383 C:\PROF_383 fred

substituting your choice of directory and the correct password as
required. If all goes well, you will see a message such as:
