To install the ZyXEL Parallel Port Interface drivers, insert the
installation diskette to A-drive. Choose the Run option from
the File menu in Program Manager, enter A:SETUP.EXE and click Ok.

The ZyXEL Parallel Port Interface setup program performs the
 following tasks:

1. It checks if a third party COM/LPT driver is installed on the system.

    SETUP.EXE requires the following entries exist in the SYSTEM.INI
    file which is found in the Windows directory.

    -- In the [BOOT] section
          comm.drv=comm.drv

    -- In the [386ENH] section
          device=*vcd
          device=*combuff

    If the above entries do not exist in SYSTEM.INI, SETUP.EXE assumes
    that the a third party communication driver has been installed on
    the system and quits the installation. To resolve this issue, you
    must de-install the third party driver prior to installing the
    ZyXEL Parallel Port Interface.

    To de-install the third party driver, please refer to the third
    party reference manual.

    user selected directory on the system.

    -- In the [BOOT] section
       It replaces "comm.drv=comm.drv" with "comm.drv=ZyXELcom.drv".

       It replaces "device=*vcd" with "device=ZyXELvcd.386".
       It replaces "device=*combuff" with "device=ZyXELbuf.386".

       Depending on if the entry "device=*vpd" exists,
       it adds or replaces with "device=ZyXELvpd.386".

       Depending on if the entry "maxcomport" exists,
       it adds or replaces with "maxcomport=4".
