Bad news from the Russian Front: I recently acquired a book
entitled "Airacobra Advantage: The Flying Cannon". Why is
this bad news? Well, the ammo amounts in the P-39Q are
higher in the Russian Front than reality. The P-39Q had 30
rounds of ammo for the 37mm, and 200 rpg for the two nose
.50s. 300 rpg for the wing pods was correct <G>. So here's
the debug to lower the ammo to the correct amounts:
DEBUG P39Q.EXP
-E 1EC 1E
-E 1FC C8 00
-W
-Q
This will lower the amounts of ammo. The 30 rounds of 37mm
is actually listed for the P-39D, but it does not tell of
any increase for later models. It specifically lists 200
rpg and 300 rpg for the .50s, though, for the -Q. So this
is the best historical data available and I feel is much
better than my original. --Sturmer

CONFESSION TIME AGAIN: There is a small error
(SMALL...TINY.....ALMOST INVISIBLE)<G> in the RUSSIA15
version. The BF110, when shot down, will be credited as a
FW190. I forgot to change one little byte when I moved it.
The fix: DEBUG BF110G.EXP
E 10C 12
W
Q
That's it. Keith H and Stephen Ames have the corrected
version already, of course.

Well, after a flurry of work, announcing The Russian Front
version 1.5. I know what you're thinking, "(&^$$#% that
Sturmer, I just got 1.2!" Well, I'm sorry, but what 1.5
provides is all the rest of the historical missions. There
are 39 new missions to fly, all historically based.
Researching these does take time. So if you like Russia,
well this just makes it a lot better. Summary of other >>>>
changes: version number displayed during flight with
"alt-v", Mig-3 rocket bug fixed, P-39Q ammo fixed, Bf110
moved to Do335 slot (notice you DONT need to own the D0335
in order to use the slot!<G>) 39 new missions, most all of
the names on the maps changed to Russian localities to match
the mission briefings, some old missions have been corrected
for minor flaws, VVS displayed vice USAAF on the mission
builder screen. Pretty much fine-tuned now. Also, MiG-3
ammo fixed to historical levels (finally found the amounts
in a book!). There are two versions of Russia 1.5 -
RUS15FIX.ZIP is an upgrade kit for previous owners. >>>>>>
Also, RUSSIA15.ZIP is the entire program in one package
(except of course for the BOB pac files) for "new
customers". I have just sent these two to Keith Heitmann, I
will also send them to whoever wants if you'll just mail a
disk to me with two stamps included (one 3.5inch HD
preferred). This really rounds out the Russian Front, and
fixes all of the "little nagging bugs" that people have
noticed. I really feel you will not be disappointed by
this! Anyway, let me know what you think if you get it.

Funny you should mention Russia 1.2, I just finished 30
additional historical missions for it <G>. As for your
problem...well, the He111 is a little sensitive when using
it in custom missions. It will definitely crash with any
mission involving B17s. NOT to worry, just don't use it for
a TOD. The Sturmovik also will crash with B17s in the same
scenario. So use the scenarios I made or make your own, >>>
just stay away from B17s in the mission. (they wouldn't be
there anyway). As for your planes, you CAN use all the
slots if you don't have all the planes. Erik Novales
discovered this, you just make a "false" icon file in the FE
subdirectory. For example, COPY 190ICN.PAC 162ICN.PAC or
something like that. Then you can use that slot if you also
have the .SPC slot or a "false" .SPC file. There are 12
modified planes, and using the false icons, you can fly them
all. Give it a try! (assuming you have the updated
SWOTL.EXE etc) Any other problems, let me know!
