My internal floppy drive for my 1000hx , model # 25-1053 is
shot.
Can i use any of the newer 1.44 drives for this old model, or do
i have to find a 720?

Anyone have this old drive laying around that they would like to
get rid of?

You can use a 1.44 FD in the machine, but the computer will "see"
it as a 720.

You can also often find 720's at Computer Fairs. I bought a
bunch of them for $5 each and have used all but the last two
(they all worked fine).

Price range for the 1.44's is $15-$25 at our local computer
fair.

Good luck and keep that old machine humming. It breaks my heart
when any old machine gets trashed...
