I have a Tandy 4000 386 16mhz computer. I'm think about
purchasing a make-it a 486 chip to put in my computer. Have any
one that owns a Tandy 4000 386 ever use one of these chips for
their system and if so can you see a difference in performance.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

I have a Tandy 4016SX and was considering the same upgrade. I
contacted Cyrix about this and they sent me a utility disc, no
charge, to see if an upgrade of this sort could even be done.
Good thing I checked cause it couldn't. I recommend this course
of action prior to buying a chip you might not be able to
use...or return.

Good luck.

John
I have used a cyrix dlc 16/32 upgrade processor in my 4000 and
it works fine.
The only problem I had was I had to fill both memory banks. You
can use 8 256k simms for 2megs or 8 1meg simms for 8megs . Good
Luck
