The date problem on the Model 4 is a software, not hardware,
problem.

Which version of DOS are you using? What is the latest date you
can enter? The last version, LS-DOS 6.3.1 accepts dates thru
12/31/2011.

Thanks Dan,

I should have known that!! I forgot to mention this but the
really big reason I need the EEPROM is so I can boot the system
directly off of the hard drive. I am going to use this in a
situation where I really don't want floppy's to be used (because
of environment & duty cycle). If you know of anyone who
manufactures of sells these chips please let me know. Thanks so
much.

Hello, everyone! I'm back again...modem failures put me down for
awhile! I really appreciate evryone's input on my earlier
questions (back in November!)
..I just got to read the replies, as I'm just now back online
with the M4! (Same 300 baud modem...nothing but a relay
failure..)
Anyway, where can I find some newer DOS versions? I have TRSDOS
6.2 which I'm using now with XT4 comm software, LDOS from about
1986, and NEWDOS/80 (neat little OS!). With TRSDOS 6.2, 1987 is
as high a date as I can enter. Hard to believe this machine has
been with me so long!! Very reliable little guys, especially
compared to the newer machines!
Thanks so much for your help! Richard Ross

The "Recycler," who checks in here from time to time, probably
can get you a copy of LS-DOS 6.3.1, the last, and best, version
of TRSDOS 6. If you can't get that, I believe you can get some
date patches from Computer News 80 "magazine."

Frank,

Do you have any idea or know for sure whether the
mag "Computer News 80" is still being published? Know ole Slater
up in Wyoming did it but have no address or info anymore since
getting rid of my 3 and some of the 4's.

Thanks..........................................BobR

Hi Richard, I have the newer LS-DOS 6.3's available here as well
as LOTS of other USEFULL software and hardware upgrades for your
STILL USEFULL M4. How about a 2400 or 9600 Baud Modem to speed
things up for you? All at reasonable prices. The Model 4 can
still do wonders at low cost.
