My Tandy 1000TX bit the dust and I'm trying to use the printer
DPm 132 with an IBM compatible PC. It's an older PC with dos 3.3
and no windows. It seems that I need a driver for this printer
to work with this PC. Can anyone tell me if that is true and if
so where I can get the needed driver. Thanks

John,

The first thing you have to do to make the computer
recognize the 132 is purchase a cable from Radio Shack. The
standard cable will not work with the Tandy Centronics port. It
has a few wires swapped around.

Go to the Radio Shack store and purchase cable stock
number 26-227 in 6' length or the 26-223 in 12' length if it has
not been discontinued. Last I knew both cables were available
but have heard that the 12' one was discontinued.

This will get you up and running. If I remember
correctly you should set dip switch 1 to on and the others off
which will give you IBM Graphics printer emulation.

                              Good luck and have
fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Robert. Now I can't get MS WORKS for dos to recognize it.
I don't have a driver. Any clue as to who manufactured it?
Thanks.

Jay,

I am not sure of the manufacturer but Seikosha comes
to mind. I do know it is compatible with the IBM Graphics
driver. I had a DMP-130 and used that driver all the time and
had no problems.

I think that dip switch 1-1 has to be on and all the
others off to make it into IBM emulation. As I don't have the
manual anymore, (ex wife has it in storage after I sold the
printer to her!) I am not 100% sure that is the setting. Check
it out and see what happens.

I do know you WILL need the proper cable for it to
work out of the PC connector.

Good luck and message me if I can be of any more
assistance.
