I have a Tandy 1400LT whci still performs well for the intended
application. I use an external RGB monitor which, unfortunately,
is failing. The 1400 has a 9 pin plug for the external monitor.
Current monitors are at minimum VGA which use 15 pin plugs.

1. Any suggested sources of RGB monitors would be appreciated,
and/or

2. Does anyone have any experience using a more modern VGA in
combination with a VGA to RGB (15 pin to 9 pin) adapter with the
Tandy 1400LT.

My thanks

Dave Angel

The good ole CGA monitors ... buyable generally for around $25
work splendidly on the 1400! Post a request for such and I'll
bet someone has some sitting in a closet ... I bought one clear
across country mailed to me for like $25 ... Hope this helps ...
Tons of these are around!

Thanks greatly for your comment that GCA monitors work with the
1400. I'll get to work on that ASAP.

Again, my appreciation.

My local computer shop has a CGA as is for $10 !!!! It may or may
not work ... If you'd like me to put you in contact with them,
let me know ... to see if they'd send it along ... for a few
extra packaging and mailing bucks ... It is with the pins
connector so I have to believe that would make it colored ... as
my mono monitors took a different plug ..

I hate to see a CGA monitor sitting for $10 !

Hi Dave, I probably have a monitor that would work for you but
hard to tell from this distance. Where do you live? I'm in the
S.F. Bay area in CA. Be glad to help you out if I can.

Dave ... You can contact COMPUTER CRAFT on 24th Avenue North in
St. Petersburg, Florida ... area code 813 ...

Good Luck!

Actually, though, I bet if you but inquire of your local computer
shops, you're likely to find some who have some CGA's sitting
around, take your pick for $20-$40 ... or so seems the experience
around here ...

Oh yes some folks seem to want to charge $100!!!! but a little
looking and inquiring probably will do it ... It has for me on a
few occasions ...

I even inquired right here in the past and had someone send me a
lovely one clear cross the country for peanuts ... Put out the
WANT NOTICE and you'll likely be rewarded!
