I have installed DOS 6.22 on the hard drive of my 1000TL2.
Because it is a Tandy with ROM DOS, the readme.txt file says to
contact the hardware manufacturer for information about
upgrading. I know this computer isn't made anymore, so any info
about how to make the 6.22 work is much appreciated.

Bob,
    Hopefully you have the original disks that came with the
computer.
    Insert disk 1 of the original DOS disk and type in the
setuptl2.com file and when in setup check where it says to boot
from harddrive or drive A if you do not have h/d.

Bob:
     I changed the setup to boot from the hard drive, and I get
an error message that says,

     Unrecognized command in CONFIG.SYS
     Error in CONFIG.SYS line 4

My CONFIG.SYS file looks like this:

     DEVICE=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE
     DEVICE=C:\DOS\ansi.sys
     device=mouse.sys
     DEVICE.CLKDVR.SYS
     REM buffers=40
     files=20
     stacks=64,256
     BUFFERS=10,0
     SHELL=C:\DOS\COMMAND\COM C:\DOS\  /p

Any ideas you have on where I go from here are much appreciated.

Robert

DEVICE.CLKDVR.SYS The period is wrong here. You should have an
equal sign [ = ] in that
      ^
position

Bob,

I deleted the line from my config.sys file. Apparently it
directed DOS to a file, CLKDVR.SYS which did not exist. I could
not find it in the directory. 6.22 runs now; I have already used
ScanDisc and Defrag. But I can't get DeskMate to work with it.
Even when the Setuptl2 file indicates DeskMate as the start-up
program, and I have hit F1 to update eeprom registers. I can't
use Text unless I change the setup back to start-up from ROM
instead of from DISK. Is there hope?

Robert
