As of April 15th (tax day :), Rutgers University assumed
maintenance of CUTCP, a TCP/IP package for MS-DOS, from Clarkson
University and Brad Clements. Its new distribution home is
ftp-ns.rutgers.edu. Please join us in thanking Clarkson
University and the NCSA for all work they have done in the past,
work that provided us with a framework to produce this new
release.

The Rutgers release took significantly longer to produce
than we originally estimated. After the longest "few days" in the
history of time, we're finally ready. There is at least one known
bug: when using ODI as the network interface, CUTCP hangs on
receipt of a large packet. We're not sure why, but rest assured
we are working on it. Also, we're having great difficulty getting
microtn to build, so that is not included in this release. Again,
work is proceeding.

	As for changes/additions:
o The source code is completely reorganized and is now
	  publicly available.
o the new ftpbin handles multi-line responses properly.
o the new telbin is up to date with regards to telnet
options. It successfully connects to several OS's which
had been problems in the recent past (Cray's Unicos 7.0 in
	  particular).
o We've made numerous minor changes in the printed messages,
	  none of any great significance.

The package is available for FTP from ftp-ns.rutgers.edu
in /pub/msdos/cutcp/current. There are two zip files, one source
and binary distribution, one binary-only distribution.

If you retrieve the binary-only release, you need only
unzip it and run. The config.tel file hasn't changed, except for
the addition of an ODI option. If you retrieve the source
release, please take a look at readme.src in the top level source
directory for build instructions.
