         Copyright (c) 1994-1999 OfficeSoft LLC

VERSION 7.02b (April 6, 1999)
-----------------------------
1. Fixed "Access Violation Error" which may result
if you uncheck the AutoReplace box and restart
     Shorthand.

VERSION 7.02 (April 1, 1999)
----------------------------
1. Picklist items can now hold strings with more than
     255 characters.
2. Fixed bug in which input forms did not receive focus
     in certain situations.
3. To conserve space, the optional description field of
dictionary items are now limited to a maximum of
     80 characters.
4. The SHIFT key was being enabled if you right click
on the Shorthand icon without choosing any of the menu
     options. This has been fixed.

VERSION 7.00 (March 1999)
-------------------------
1. The Shorthand dictionary (SPF) file format remains
the same as that used by Shorthand 5.
If you want to keep the same configuration as what you
had with Shorthand 5, be sure to install Shorthand 7.0
into the same directory as Shorthand 5.
2. Shorthand 7 has been redesigned as a 100% 32-bit Windows
program and can support very large dictionaries (the size
is limited only by available memory and the speed of your
    computer).
3. The Shorthand icon now appears in the Windows System Tray.
Click on the icon to bring up Shorthand's main window.
4. Shorthand's main window no longer floats "on top" of all
other windows. This had to be done to prevent dialog boxes
from being hidden under Shorthand. Since Windows places
a button on the taskbar when Shorthand's main window is
displayed, it should be easy to tell if Shorthand is
    hidden or not.
5. Shorthand 7 can now insert delays after a specified number
of keystrokes. This is useful if your target application
cannot keep up with Shorthand. By default, the delay is set
to 1 second after every 40 keystrokes. To change this
setting, select Preferences from the File menu and change
    the "Pause" settings.
6. Shorthand 7 supports the following new tags:
    {@PAUSE delayTime} and {@INPUTFILE file}.
The {@PAUSE delayTime} tags pauses playback by
delayTime seconds. The {@INPUTFILE file} tag inserts the
contents of file which must be an ASCII text file and may
contain Shorthand tags. Consult the on-line help
    for details and examples.
7.  The {@KEY} tag syntax is now: {@KEY keycode count}
where "keycode" is the shortcut key code (e.g. Ctrl+F1)
and "count" is a new parameter specifying the number of
times to simulate the keystroke. For example,
{@KEY left 5} will simulate 5 left arrows.
If you don't specify a value for "count", Shorthand assumes
    a value of 1.
8. Shorthand 7 no longer supports the Enable Quick Keyword
Input and Remain Iconized options. These functions are
no longer necessary since Shorthand can replace keywords
    as you type.
9. Shorthand 7 uses a new spell checker which operates much
    faster than the previous Shorthand 5 spell checker;
unfortunately there is no mechanism to move words from
Shorthand 5 spell checker files to the new spell checker
files. Spell checker files for languages other than English
will be available soon for free downloading from the Shorthand
Web Site. Contact OfficeSoft if you absolutely need the
capability to spell check non-english Shorthand dictionaries.
10. Under most circumstances, Shorthand 7 no longer places
inserted text into the clipboard unless you specifically
set Shorthand to transfer text via the clipboard.
This should make Shorthand more compatible with 3rd party
    clipboard utilities.
11. The on-line help (SH7.HLP) has been improved and has new
sections containing frequently asked questions, common
problem resolution and other useful information. Please
check the help file before askiing for technical support.
