PSA Cards 3.6 for Windows 2000/ME/98/95 and NT 4.0

PSA Cards is an easy to use personal information manager. The user interface is an on-
screen card file with tabs for dividers and cards. To access a divider or card, just click on
it. Double click a card to edit it. As you add information to a card, it expands to
accommodate the new information. The program has a large number of features, yet the
user interface remains intuitive and uncluttered.

PSA Cards includes Internet integration for web browsing and e-mail. Right click an e-
mail address and launch your e-mail program. Right click a URL and launch your web
browser.

Print Rolodex cards, mailing labels, envelopes, and a variety of address book formats.
Dial phone numbers either directly or with the Microsoft dialer. The downloaded file is a
ZIP compatible, self-extracting executable.

PSA Cards also includes a HotSync conduit for the Palm address book. The HotSync
conduit allows the exchange of information between PSA Cards on your PC and your
Palm PDA address book. To install the conduit, go to the PSA Cards Preferences menu
and click on the "Palm - Install Palm Conduit" command. This will set up the Palm
HotSync program to synchronize your Palm PDA with the currently open PSA Cards
data file. See below and the HotSync topic in the on-line Help for more details.

If you or another user wish to HotSync with a different PSA Cards file, open that file in
PSA Cards and click on the "Install Palm Conduit" command again. If there is more than
one Palm user on the same PC, it is important to note that all Palm users' address books
will be HotSynced to the same PSA Cards file. That is, to the PSA Cards file that is open
when the conduit install command is run.

PLEASE NOTE --- The HotSync conduit has been tested extensively. However you are
strongly urged to back up your system, particularly your Palm Desktop files and existing
PSA Cards files before HotSyncing between PSA Cards and your Palm PDA.

Of course, the solution to this problem to turn off your virus protection program while
you run the installation.

Installing the PSA Cards - Palm HotSync conduit

To install the conduit, go to the PSA Cards Preferences menu and click on the "Palm -
Install Palm Conduit" command. This will set up the Palm HotSync program to
synchronize your Palm PDA with the currently open PSA Cards data file. For the "Install
Palm Conduit" command to work, the Palm Desktop (software that comes with your
Palm PDA) must already be installed. After installing the PSA Cards - Palm conduit,
HotSync will no longer synchronize with your Palm desk top address book. However, it
will still synchronize with the remaining Palm Desktop applications and any other
applications you may have installed. The conduit install and restore commands write
detailed information to an installation log. To view this log, click on the "Palm - View
Conduit Install Log" command in the Preferences menu.

See the on-line help topic "PSA Cards - Palm address book Conduit" for detailed
information on using the conduit.

See the next topic to find how to go back to synchronizing with the Palm Desktop address
book application.

Uninstalling the PSA Cards - Palm HotSync conduit

To uninstall the PSA Cards - Palm HotSync conduit go to the PSA Cards Preferences
menu and click on the "Palm - Restore Palm Desktop Conduit" command. The HotSync
conduit for the Palm Desktop address is restored. This must be done before uninstalling
PSA Cards itself. Uninstalling PSA Cards does not restore the Palm Desktop Conduit. If
you were using some other third party address book conduit before using the PSA Cards
conduit, and want to go back to it, you must re-install that conduit.

Uninstalling PSA Cards

The install program implements an uninstall feature that will remove PSA Cards from
your system. To access this program, click on Settings command in the Start Menu, then
the Control Panel, and finally double click the Add/Remove Program icon.

If you have added files to the PSA Cards directory that you don't want to be deleted, be
sure to save them in another location before running the uninstall program.

If you are installing over an earlier version of PSA Cards

When you install PSA Cards for Windows 3.1 on a computer running Windows 95 or 98,
or when you install Windows 95 or 98 over Windows 3.1 with PSA Cards already
installed, there will be a "PSA Cards" program folder on the Windows 95/98 Start menu.

When you install this release of PSA Cards a new program icon named "PSA Cards" will
appear on the Start menu. Since the installation routine does not check for the presence
of the old PSA Cards (from the Windows 3.1 version) program folder and program icons,
you will need to remove them from the Start menu manually. To do this, right click on
the Start menu, click "Explore", open the Programs folder, find the old PSA Cards
program folder and program icons and, and drag them to the Recycle Bin.

Buy PSA Cards to fully enable the "Save" command

Complete instructions for ordering PSA Cards can be found in the on-line Help. Go the
PSA Cards Help menu and click on "How to Order". In the evaluation version, the
"Save" command can only be used 20 times. PSA Cards costs $25.
