Introduction
------------
Personal Organizer is a tool for managing any kind of personal information
(such as tasks, events, contacts, notes, file links, web links etc.) and
an image viewer.

All textual information is contained in one or more Microsoft Access 2000
databases protected by keywords. The information is divided in 13 usage
domains and an unlimited number of categories.

Personal Organizer offers in a single program the functionality of most
PIM applications, but has some features hardly to be found in other
products, like the possibility of displaying the stored information not
only as a grid or list, but also as a calendar, tree map or tag map with
auto-tile, drag & drop functionality and various kinds of editing methods.

Personal Organizer is shareware. Please register if you want to use Personal
Organizer for more than 30 days. Failure to comply with this condition
is a violation of international copyright law. Registration is currently free
of charge.

How to install Personal Organizer
---------------------------------
Before installing Personal Organizer, you should have already installed the
Visual Basic 6 runtime files. If needed, you can download them free of charge
from Simtel at URL

      http://www.simtel.net/simtel.net/win95/dll.html

They are cointained in file simvb6-6.zip or later. Unzip this file in a temporary
directory, run the setup.exe file contained in it and follow the instructions
displayed by the installation program.

You can then install Personal Organizer. Unzip the Personal Organizer kit file
(peror*.zip) in a temporary directory, run the setup.exe file contained in it
and follow the instructions displayed by the installation program.

Once the installation is terminated, you can launch the program through the
"personal" entry of the start/programs menu.

How to register Personal Organizer
----------------------------------
Just follow the instructions displayed at program startup. Let the program
automatically generate an e-mail to bcancel@tin.it with the request code.
You will then receive by e-mail a registration code valid for your
installation.

Registration is currently free of charge.

You could also use the program without a valid registration code, however
this is discouraged by means of a forced two-minute delay at startup and every
20 minutes. Updates and new releases for Personal Organizer will be announced
via e-mail to the users who have registered their installation.

Getting started using the demo database
---------------------------------------
At startup, select the "demo.mdb" database (the password is "demo"). After some
practise with demo.mdb you can start your own personal database by using MyDB.mdb
(an empty database, the password is "mydb"). You can then rename this database and
change the password by means of the relevant command in the main context menu.

How to uninstall Personal Organizer
-----------------------------------
Use the "Add/remove programs" function of the Windows control panel.
