RandomWallpaper 1.1 - Readme

What is RandomWallpaper?
________________________

RandomWallpaper is a tool that will choose a random wallpaper for your desktop
every time Windows starts and optionally at certain intervals while Windows is
running. You can specify a list of wallpapers to choose from and assign
different priorities and show states (tiled, centered, stretched) to each one.
RandomWallpaper installs itself into your Windows taskbar. The configuration
dialog is accessible from there.

Which versions of Windows does RandomWallpaper run on?
______________________________________________________

RandomWallpaper has been tested on Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. It should
also work on Windows 98, but I haven't had a chance to test that.

Is RandomWallpaper freeware?
____________________________

Yes. You may use RandomWallpaper free of charge for private, commercial or
government purposes. You may distribute RandomWallpaper freely, provided that

- you do not make changes of any kind to the program or documentation
- you include the complete set of files that you received with this
distribution; at present, these are just two files: this file (Readme.txt)
  and the executable (RandomWallpaper.exe)
- you do not charge any fee, except for any fees to cover the cost of the
  distribution media

The program and accompanying documentation are provided "as is", without
warranty of any kind, either express or implied. In no event shall the author
be liable for any damages whatsoever arising out of the use of or the
inability to use the software.

The copyright in this work remains with the author.

How do I install RandomWallpaper?
_________________________________

First, check that your Windows\System directory (if you're using Windows 95
or Windows 98) or your Windows\System32 directory (if you're using Windows NT)
contains the file MFC40.DLL. I chose not to distribute this file with
RandomWallpaper since it's pretty large (around 900 KB) and most people should
have it anyway. If you don't, you should be able to find it on the Internet.

Next, copy the file "RandomWallpaper.exe" to a directory of your choosing,
then execute it by double-clicking on it. This will open the configuration
dialog, where you can specify which wallpapers RandomWallpaper should choose
from. Click "OK", and you're done. RandomWallpaper will automatically install
itself into your Startup folder so that it gets activated whenever you start
Windows.

How do I uninstall RandomWallpaper?
___________________________________

Delete the program file from your hard disk and remove the entry
"RandomWallpaper" from your Startup group.

Is there any further documentation other than this file?
________________________________________________________

Sorry, there isn't. I'm hoping that RandomWallpaper is sufficiently self-
explanatory to make a help file unnecessary.
