Program description
-------------------

DataScroller is the program, which expands capabilities of standard scroll bars. Scroll bars are used in Windows for scrolling documents, not fitting in the window. DataScroller expands capabilities of all standard scroll bars, used in Windows and user programs. DataScroller removes some limitations of standard scroll bars and introduces new possibilities to make your work more comfortable and convenient.

Main capabilities:

* Additional scrolling capabilities;
* Tooltips with information about the current position in the document;
* Bookmarks, enabling quick jumps to the desired position in the document;
* History list, enabling quick jumps to the previous position in the document;
* Context menu for every scroll bar;
* Forced smooth scrolling mode for old programs, not supporting smooth scrolling.


Minimum system requirements
---------------------------

  * 80386/486 compatible computer (or higher)
  * 1800 Kb free hard drive space
  * Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
  * Mouse

To work in  Windows 95 it is recommended to install Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher. Not doing this will lead to the following limitations:

  * Tooltip will not be available
  * Check boxes in the operation list will be unavailable ('Operations' page of configuration dialog)

DataScroller uses modern HTML Help technology for convenient and fast search for answers to your questions. HTML Help support is included in Windows 98 and higher and in Internet Explorer 4.0 and higher. If HTML Help is not supported by your system, you can download it as an independent component from

  www.microsoft.com/workshop/author/htmlhelp/


Installation
------------

1. If the previous version of DataScroller is open, close it.

2. If you downloaded the self-extracting installation file DataScroller.exe, then:

   a) Start DataScroller.exe;
   b) Follow instructions of the installation wizard.

3. If you downloaded the zipped installation file DataScroller.zip, then:

   a) Extract the downloaded DataScroller.zip to a temporary folder;
   b) Start the extracted file Setup.exe;
   c) Follow instructions of the installation wizard.



Uninstall
---------

Exit DataScroller before deinstallation. Then select Uninstall in DataScroller group.


Registration
------------

DataScroller is not a freeware. To use DataScroller after 30 days trial period, you should register DataScroller. Information on registration can be found in Order.txt file.
