1 Description
  ===========

  BMPTOICO 4.0 is a Converter/Editor,
  allowing you to quickly create
  Small Images: Icons or Cursors
  (with Transparency), Bitmaps,
  Buttons, etc.

  New in version 4.0:
  . Create a New Image or Use an Existing one
  . Convert from BMP, WMF, GIF or JPG
  . Multi-Format Icons fully supported
  . Cursors (CUR) fully supported
  . Change Color Depth or Size
  . Add a Special Effect (including a Buttonizer)
  . Much improved Editor with Palette editing
  . Icon Extractor, Cursor Test, etc.

2 System Requirements
  ===================

               Minimum             Recommended

  Chip:        386 PC              Pentium
  Memory: 8 megs The more the better
  Platform:    Win 3.1/NT3.5       Win 95/98/NT4/2000
  Display: VGA/SVGA High or True Color
  Disk Space: Around 1.3 Megs of Drive space
  VB Library: Requires VBRUN300.DLL to run

  BMPTOICO is written in 16-bit, but... a special DLL
  gives it many features that work only on 32-bit
  systems! And you need a Display Video Mode higher
  than 256 Colors to have access to many features.

3 To Install
  ==========

  Run the INSTALL.EXE program included in the Zip; it will copy all
  the files to a directory of your choice, and create an Icon in
  the Program Manager (Win 3.1) or a Shortcut in your
  Start Menu (Win 95/98/NT). Since the files are not compressed,
  you can also do the copying yourself.

  If you already have installed a previous version and you
  install the new one in the same Folder, the old files will
  be copied to a BAK Folder created under it.

  If you have Registered a previous version of either BMPTOICO
  or ICOEDIT, you will be able to "Auto-Register" this version.
  If you have problems, please contact the Author.

  Note on VBRUN300.DLL: this is the Library file needed to run all
  applications written with Visual Basic 3, and most people already
  have a copy in the Windows\System Folder.

  If you badly need VBRUN300.DLL, there are copies on many CD-ROMS,
  including the Windows95 installation one (on mine, I found a copy
  in the demos\MSB folder), or you can download it from ZDNet by
  following the link on my web site, or look at any other Internet Shareware Site, or Online services like
  CompuServe, etc...)

4 To Uninstall
  ============

  Run UNINSTAL.EXE [Win 3.1 cannot delete a running program, so
  Uninstalling cannot Remove the BMPTOICO folder].

  You can also Uninstall manually: Delete all the files in your
  BMPTOICO folder, and/or the Folder itself.

5 To Register
  ===========

  BMPTOICO will run for 30 days. After that, you need to Register.

  Registration is only $25 US (or $25 Cdn if you live in Canada and
  pay by snail-mail).

  1) Online, via REGNET:

  . From BMPTOICO: Click Help > About, then Click the "Register
    Online" link: this will take you directly to RegNet's BMPTOICO 4
    page (you need to have a Default Browser set up; might not work with
     Win 3.1, and definitely not if you are not connected yet!)

    RegNet's page for BMPTOICO is at:
         http://www.reg.net/product.asp?ID=6206

  . From my Web site: http://www.mycatsoft.com/regis.htm
     (link to RegNet's page)

  . By phone: 1 800 WWW2REG (1 800 999-2734) or (805) 288-1827
     (mention BMPTOICO's ID, #6206)

    Cards accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Am. Express, Discover, Eurocard

  2) By snail-mail: please use the ORDER.TXT file if you can.
  American or Canadian users can send a cheque (made to the
  order of "Lucie Dorais", not MyCat Software, please). If you live
  outside Canada or the US, and if the charges for a bank draft or money
  order are out of this world, you can send the equivalent in your country's
  money (bank notes only); although it might not be safe, I have had no
  problem so far.

  Please send all mail to:
     Lucie Dorais

     Ottawa, Ont.

     Canada

  What you will get: a nice thank you letter, with your Unique
  Registration code, and free upgrades.

6 Support, Bug Report
  ===================
  Don't hesitate to write to me about any problem you
  encounter in BMPTOICO 4.0, even if you are not a
  Registered user yet: see contact information
  above.

7 License
  =======

  BMPTOICO 4 is a Shareware program and is provided at no charge to
  the user for evaluation. You may evaluate it for 30 days; after
  that trial period, BMPTOICO will stop running (but will still allow
  you to enter the Registration code if you got one).

  You may run it on one computer at a time. If you need more than one
  copy, please Contact the author for a group license.

  You may share it with your friends, but please do not give
  it away altered or as part of another system. And please don't
  give them your registration number!

  You may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise
  reduce this software to a human perceivable form. You may not modify,
  rent or resell for profit this software, or create derivative works
  based upon this software.

  The essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal
  computer users with quality software without high prices, and yet
  to provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new
  products. If you find this program useful and wish to continue
  to use it after the 30-day trial period, you should look deep into
  your pocketbook and make an effort to register it (see above).
