 Christmas Card '98
 (c) Michael Bevin
--------------------

This program is an 'electronic christmas card', which should work fine on a
Pentium or above, and works OK on my 486DX. A sound card is recommended for
the great christmas carol music, and a screen capable of 65k or 16M colours
is a must (if it looks really ugly it's probably faking 4000 colours in 256
colour mode).

What makes this program special is that by pressing ENTER at any time u can
edit the message (press ALT-S to save, ALT-X to cancel), creating your own
cards to send to friends. I have tried to keep the size down so that it is
e-mailable... of course, all of the files should be re-zipped before
attaching to an e-mail message.

Christmas Card is cardware, which means that it is completely free to use &
copy & share with friends. If you like it please send me a postcard at :-

Of course, cash donations are also welcome (me being a poor varsity student).

If you find this program crashes or runs too slow or the music is stuffed,
and you are using Windows 95/98, try restarting in DOS mode before running
(or try running from a dos window within Windows). If u still have problems
try running without the music (ie CARD -nosound), or disabling smartdrv if
you're short of ram.
You may want to look at getting UNIVBE (Scitech Display Doctor or SDD) if the
program is only running in 256 colours when your screen can handle more. This
is useful for many DOS programs, such as Quake etc.

If the music doesn't play try checking you have the sound blaster environment
variable in autoexec.bat, ie
   SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 T4
