SUMMARY/PURPOSE

This Tachistiscope Visual Reaction Time program can be used in to
demonstrate or improve visual reaction time. A prompt (letters, number,
words, nonsense words, or symbols) is presented on the computer screen
for 2 seconds or less. Several stimuli are then presented and the user
must respond yes/no if the first prompt is a member of the stimuli.
The user can set several features of the program that include
type of stimuli, length of prompt presentation, delay between prompt
presentation and stimuli presentation, number of stimuli, and distraction.
This program can develop visual processing skills and reaction time
necessary in reading and similar visual tasks. It can be also used
as part of cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive retraining, or visual training.
