  "FINDER.EXE" FOR DOS USE:

Put "FINDER.EXE" in the "COMMAND" sub-directory (folder) to the "WINDOWS"
(95/98/etc.) directory (folder) or in the "DOS" directory if you have Windows
3.1 or Dos only. This allows you to launch "Finder" anywhere as you do with
any Dos command/utility.

A FEW EXAMPLES OF FINDER'S USEFULNESS:

Have you ever wondered if a file/s has your password, SSN, credit card
number/s, link to a site you visited that you don't want anyone to know about,
etc. Or maybe you forgot the name of an important file and it's location, but
you remember it contains a certain word, phrase, number, etc. Perhaps, you
want to see which files contains a reference to a location such as "My
Documents", or you just installed an application and you want to see which
files have links to that location. I could list many more examples, but I
think you got the idea.

  "Finder" searches for a file/s ("Locate") or through a file/s ("Find" and/or
"Search"), which can be all the files in the hard disk drive, including hidden
files and files in a hidden folder/directories. "Finder" searches through a
file/s (any type of any size) for a text pattern/s (with various search
options). Please view "FINDER.DOC" for details about the search options, etc.

  BROWSE OR SELECT A FILE/S:

All folders/directories are displayed in green at the top of the list.
Files are always displayed in blue below directories.

If you "mark" (tag) a file/s, then browse to another folder/directory or
drive, the "marks" will be cleared.

  IMPORTANT "EXCLUSIVE" SEARCH NOTES:

DON'T use "Exclusive" search for anything except a word or name. Example:
If you used "Exclusive" search for a product model number, say SLS2553,
"Exclusive" search will NOT find it if the number in the list is "SLS2553A".

If you are looking for a particular subject which can be plural, example
"form" can also be "forms", to avoid finding "formation", "conform", etc., use
the "Or" search mode. Enter "form" for the first pattern and select
exclusive, and enter "forms" for the second pattern and select exclusive.

  LIST OF PATTERNS SEARCH:

The longer the list, the longer it takes to search a file/s because each
pattern in the list is searched for (in turn) in each "line" in the file.

  "LIMIT" SEARCH:

This feature, when used, will also limit how far through a file/s you can
browse after a search pattern/s is found. Also, if using "Lines" limit, blank
lines (only a carriage return (LF)) will not be included in the "lines" count.

"EXTRACT" SEARCH and "LINES BEGINNING" SEARCH:

Use these features on text files only. Each line should end with a carriage
return.
