4. Drawing
----------
PO offers very powerful and versatile tools for drawing.
At first, the painting system of the PO may look a little bit
confusing, but it offers more freedom for user than traditional
painting programs.

Drawing functions can be easily combined in PO, for example it is
possible to fill area with spray, which has a clipped image as a brush.
Nice effects can also be gained by using smooth, shade, gradient and other
color modes with different drawing tools.

Most painting programs are screen oriented i.e. they allow user to draw
only to current screen area. PO don't have this kind of limitations and
so it is for example possible to draw lines that continue over screen
and fill areas which are bigger than screen. This makes manipulation of
big pictures easy, but it also requires a little bit more carefulness,
because for example fill operations can 'leak' outside of screen without
that it is at once noticed.

Other important thing to notice is that in PO mouse button is not held
down while adjusting size of rectangle, circle and line or while using
similar tools. This should make it easier to paint pictures which are
larger than screen.

4.2 Drawing Modes Menu
----------------------
Layout of Drawing Mode menu:
left button right button
--------------------------------------------
single point mode resize brush
rectangular spray mode resize spray
circle spray mode resize spray

brush size
clipped picture mode resize & rotate clipped picture

4.3 Freehand Drawing
--------------------
After you have chosen the brush and drawing mode, you only have to keep
the mouse button pressed down to draw.

4.4 Line
--------
Choose the starting point of the line by clicking with the left or right
mouse button. After that move the cursor to the end point and click again.
Note that you don't have keep mouse button down while you are moving
mouse cursor.

4.5 Curve
---------
Choose the starting point of the curve by clicking with the left or right
mouse button. After that choose two middle points with the left button
and the end point. The middle points can be adjusted by holding the left
button down and dragging the mouse cursor. When all of the curve setting
points are set then press the right mouse button to draw the curve.

4.6 Circle
----------
Choose the centre point of the circle with the cursor and click the mouse
button, then choose the size of the circle and click the mouse button to
draw the circle.

Clicking circle icon with right mouse cursor opens a style menu, where you
can chose either normal or filled circle.
Note: unlike in most other painting programs in PO mouse button is not held
down during adjusting size of the circle.

4.7 Rectangle
-------------
This works just like Circle.

4.8 Fill
--------
The first drawing colour is used as a fill colour. The normal fill (flood
fill) fills only the area drawn with the same colour.

The bound fill fills the area bound with the second drawing colour. The
bound fill can be chosen from the main menu, it fills the area bounded by
the background colour.
Clicking fill icon with right mouse cursor opens a style menu, where you
can chose either normal fill (flood fill) or bound fill.
4.9 Text
--------
Before the text mode can be used, the desired fonts must be loaded to the
memory from the file menu. After which they can easily be selected from
the fast font menu. The fast font menu can be activated by clicking text
icon with right mouse button.

Note: PO supports DJGPP's fonts, which can be freely obtained for example
from the internet.

4.10 Undo
---------
One unique feature of PO is the complete undo function, this means that
EVERYTHING that is drawn can be undone. This means of course, that if
large areas of the picture are changed often, undo information will waste
lots of memory.

Clicking undo button with left mouse button undoes only last drawing
action. Clicking undo button with right mouse button undoes everything
that has been done with current tool after tool was chosen. Undo can also
be done with ALT + BACKSPACE.

4.11 Zoom
----------
The zoom mode is activated from the 'Zoom' button.
There is two different ways to use zoom.
The first one is to click zoom button with the right mouse button and
select zoom area with mouse from picture. The other possibility is to
choose desired zoom factor by clicking zoom button with the right mouse
button.

4.12 Clip
---------
With this tool it is possible to copy or cut a partition of a picture.
Whole clipped brush can be seen by pressing v-key, pressing v again hides
picture and shows bounding box.

Note: first colour of palette (i.e. colour 0) is considered as a
"transparent" colour when using clipped picture as a brush.

4.13 Pick Colour
----------------
With this tool it is possible to choose the drawing colour from the
picture.

4.14 Clear Picture
------------------
Clears drawing area.

5. Drawing Modes
----------------
First of all it must be noticed that different drawing modes can be used
not only with freehand drawing, but with all drawing tools. For example
it is possible to draw circle using a clipped picture as a brush.

Note that because EVERY point is drawn with a selected brush, filling
areas with large clipped pictures can take LOTS of time!

6. Colour Modes
---------------
Different colour modes can be chosen either from point type menu or from
tools menu by clicking draw mode icon with right mouse button. Note that
these different colour modes, really work like normal colour i.e. they can
be used with every drawing tool. For nice effects try for example to write
text with one of the gradient modes.

6.1 Normal
----------
This is normal colour mode.

6.2 H-gradient
--------------
To use gradients you must define them first from: Main Menu->Colours
->Gradient

6.3 V-gradient
--------------

6.4 C-Gradient
--------------

6.5 Smooth
----------
As the name of this mode says it can be used to smooth sharp pictures.
With this mode it is possible to produce very nice effects easily for
example clouds and explosions.

6.6 Shade
---------
To use shade you must define gradient first from: Main Menu->Colours
->Gradient. Shade colour mode can be used to modify the colours of the
