mstat
=====

_________________________________________________________________
mstat [n] Default: 0
_________________________________________________________________
Display or set the monitor stats value. This value controls the
stats display in the status line.

	Value	Stats displayed Display legends
	0	No display
1	Free memory Fh: (heap)	Fm: (memory)
2	Throughput	Rx: (received)	Tx: (transmitted)
	22 Rx: (bps)	Tx: (bps)
3	News Nr: (received)	Nt: (total)
	4	Composite	News: (received)/(total): (bps)
				Rx: (bps)

All other values result in no display.
Memory is displayed in bytes, throughput is in kilobytes and news
is a count of article headers. Bps is bytes per second through
the interface (22 and 4) and socket (4).
Mstat 4 (the "Shakib") is the first attempt at more comprehensive
monitoring, but it does preclude a full complement of sessions if
the default status line is kept.

Options 2, 22 and 4 will attempt to pick up throughput stats from
the packet interface if the asyncronous interface is not compiled
in, but the packet interface is. However, even then, not all
packet drivers actually provide the figures.
Note: currently, all packet stats are packet counts, not bps.
